South Sumner Fights Through A Few Injuries And Dominates South East Cherokee

By Annabelle Burden and Dalton Kelly

On Friday 20, 2024 the South Sumner Outlaws played South East Cherokee at South East Cherokee. The South Sumner Outlaws won 44 – 22.

This is the Outlaws first year playing 11-man football after playing eight-man football. The Outlaws are two-and-one for the season with an upcoming game on September 27, 2024.

Alex Shore is a senior for the South Sumner Outlaw football team. Shore is a free safety on defense and runs wide receiver on offense. Shore likes all of his teammates because he doesn’t want to show favoritism when he’s trying to be a leader.

Shore has been playing football since he was in the first grade and has gotten a lot better every year he has played. He is inspired to play football because he likes hitting people and he likes playing freely. Shore liked the way the team played Friday, stating ¨We played together most of the game but we fought through adversity on the other parts of the game.¨

The South Sumner Outlaws are led by head coach Sean Blosser and led by seniors Tanner Kelly, Alex Shore, Colby Irey, Brady Russel, and Layten Caruthers.

The Outlaws are on to play Hutch Trinity in week four, hoping to pull out another win. With a great season ahead of them the Outlaws are looking for more wins on their season.
