South Haven attended State Area Land on October 2, with the goal of qualifying for Nationals once again. South Haven brought two full teams and one team of three. These teams consisted of a Homesite team and two land teams.
Annabelle Burden, Arralai Wartick, Kelly Theurer, Addison Heater, and Brady Russell, acting as an alternate, attended the Homesite evaluation portion of the contest. Tony Trillo, Coal VanZant, Maddox Pond, and Maddy Ferguson attended the land judging portion, as well as Emmalee Burden, Carley Russell, and Brody Heater.
The Homesite team came out on top with three contestants in the top ten as well as a team win. The land team did good as well, with Ferguson in the top ten and scoring sixth place as a team.
Although Land will not go on to nationals, Homesite will, and they are very excited to do so. The team says their goal is” to win it all” and come home with some good scores. This will be the team’s last chance to win nationals, which will be held in Oklahoma.
