Fall 2024 Homecoming: a Tangled Success

By Gabriel Moncivais

South Haven’s Fall 2024 Homecoming was a fun, thrilling success that was put into hard work and teamwork. The theme was inspired by Disney’s animated film “Tangled” (2012). It was certainly a very decorative and fun homecoming, with everyday themes of Pajama Day, Crazy Hair Day, Twin Day, and Outlaw Day.

On Monday, October 7, there seemed to be a lot of sleepy-looking students roaming around the school. Even the teachers came into their sleepwear. Most everyone was like that because that day was Pajama Day, where everyone brought their bedheads and teddy bears to show off who slept the best.

For the next day, everyone was supposed to have the craziest hairs. Students wore outfits with brightly colored hair, hair that formed crazy shapes, and some that was both. There were a lot of students that had fun making a mess with their hair and possibly done some irreversible damage to their own hair, unfortunately. For this day, it was truly fitting for the theme of Tangled since the main character, Rapunzel had an extreme amount of hair.

For Twin Day, everyone was supposed to look like another student or teacher by wearing an identical outfit. For some of the outfits for that day, it was almost confusing to tell who was who if their twin was standing next to each other. That day was also the day when all of the high school students went down to the highway of South Haven to spraypaint their name and other decorations on the road for everyone to see. From looking at them, you can tell that some talented artists have a lot of potential.

For the last day, which is Outlaw day, everyone was supposed to wear their sport color, which is purple and black. That was also the day where all the high school students had to build floats that follow the Tangled theme of homecoming. Every class had an extraordinary set, and was amazed of how everything turned out. The audience loved it. For it being a great homecoming, hopefully the next one will be just as great.
