The South Haven High School football team’s last game was Nov. 1. They played Syracuse at Syracuse. The Outlaws took the game and won 34-0. Mak Blosser, Colby Irey, and Tanner Kelly scored touchdowns.
The Outlaws left early in the morning approximately at 8:30. They had a long, five hour drive ahead of them. In Will Theurer’s opinion, defensive back for the team, “The drive was long and uncomfortable.”
Coal Vanzant, left tackle for the team, says this about how they have improved this season: “Our main goal every week was to get better in every way we could by showing up to practice and being on time for thighs. We can improve working as a team and not getting mad at each other. We should come prepared every day because you can never know what will happen.”
Dalton Kelly, left guard on offense and defensive tackle on defense, was asked what his favorite part of the season was, and he said, “I will miss bonding with the team, working through injury, and being led by amazing seniors.”
Vanzant, being asked the same question had a heartfelt response, he replied, “ My favorite part was that everyone on our team would play for each other during practice and during games. I will miss a lot of the seniors that are leaving, I am going to miss the most out of them, I will miss playing football with those guys.”
The boys swept the Syracuse game and took home another win for the end of the season. It’s not for sure that all the boys will miss it but some sure will. How will next football season go?
