On Nov. 12, 2024, the South Haven Math Relay Team made it to Runner-Up and claimed a plaque by achieving it at Caldwell. The team that made it to first place was West Elk, who had a long record of winning to the top, making the South Haven Team surprised that they had gotten so close.
In total, the South Haven Math Relays Team has gotten many medals, in which compared to last year, shows that the team was improving in their mathematic intelligence.
One of the members, Elle Overfelt, was able to achieve two bronze medals to her name. She says that one of her most difficult classes was “Equations and inequalities because I didn’t remember the little things since it’s been a long time since I’ve done them.” Overfelt was surprised that she was able to get two bronze medals because she wasn’t confident with her skill since she was used to doing College Mathematics.
Overfelt also encourages people to join Math Relays because it can be a good experience and help gaining skill.
