The Nationals Team Dominates the Competition…Again!

By Annabelle Burden

On October 2, 2024 the team attended the state homesite to compete. Last year, this group of girls went to nationals and it is exciting to say that they are going back to nationals again this year. Annabelle Burden placed second, with Arallai Wartick right behind her for third and Kelly Thuerer not far behind with sixth. Three of the four members of the team, with alternate Brady Russel, placed top 10. Addison Heater was also not too far behind with the placing of 12.

On May 2, 2024 the land judging team went to the National Land Judging competition in El Reno, Oklahoma, the team had a four way tie for 9th place but placed 12th overall. The team consisted of Wartick, Theurer, Burden, and Heater.

National Homesite will take place in late April to early May and this year, the team’s goal is to win it all. This will be their last chance to go to Nationals for land judging and homesite, so they really want to go out with a bang. Last year, Theurer said, “I liked how much we practiced and I wouldn’t really change anything,” with plans of practicing hard this year and trying their hardest to win they are determined to take another win.

The effort put in by these groups of high school students is immense. These girls made it far last year and there’s hopes they make it that far and farther again this year. We are very proud of their accomplishments and they want to push farther and get better everyday.
