This was the South Summer Outlaws first year in 11-man football. The Outlaws played a total of nine games this football season and won three games. They played very hard and overcame some adversity. They also had a lot of injuries.
Coal VanZant, a junior player from South Haven, said the hardest part of the season was, “moving around all the injuries.” Through all of this, the team still came together and worked hard, with VanZant commenting on this as well, saying “We played as a team and never quit.”
There were many seniors this season, including Brady Russell who, when asked if he has any advice for the underclassman, said, “My advice to the underclassmen is to go out and give 110% every play and don’t take and play time or starting spot for granted, keep giving full effort to make you and everyone around you better.”
They had many players this season and will continue to gain more. Kody Wartick, a freshman on the team, said he is looking forward to the upcoming eighth graders and that he will be able to grow as a person and football player as well as his team. Overall the Outlaws had a good season with a lot of growth. Good luck next year Outlaws!
