On Dec. 11, 2024 the Choir/Band teacher, Keeley Coon, held auditions for the 5-12 students at South Haven Schools. The auditions were for a musical that will be in April of 2025. The musical that was picked was the 1955 film, “Guys and Dolls”. There were over 50 students that signed up for auditions and at least 25 students are needed for the musical.
The reason that “Guys and Dolls” was chosen was because it is a good show for beginners and the music and story is really good. Coon said that she was impressed with the auditions but she was also really surprised that so many students showed interest along with exceptional acting.
Sophomore Emelia Cabral got the first female lead role, Sarah Brown. Cabral thought that her audition went well but her nervousness showed. Cabral said that she wanted to audition because she likes singing and acting and it would be enjoyable. Cabral also said that she has been wanting a drama club at South Haven Schools since last year.
With all of that being said, in the words of Ms. Coon, “Come and see the show!”
