“Moana 2” is really good. The story line was a lot different than anything I would expect, but it really did capture how Moana and Maui’s friendship and the importance of their people is important to them. Spoilers below!
SPOILER WARNING!
They added a god and a demigod into the story, which was important for the story line, which was about how the god Nalo separated the islands to keep the people apart. Nalo thought that, if the people were together, they would be stronger than him.
Simea is also an important character. She is Moana’s little sister. She wasn’t there in the first movie, but I like that they added her because she gave Moana a purpose, in a way. Before Moana went on her voyage to the island, Simea gave her a pink starfish, which Moana kept in her necklace. When Moana got back from her voyage, Simea replaced it with another shell since Moana had lost it in a storm. Simea gave her the shell in the first place because she wanted to be with Moana no matter how far away she was from Moana.
The music could have been better. It should have stayed towards the genre of the first movie. It had more character in “Moana,” and the music in “Moana 2” was trying to be like it, but it didn’t capture the same feeling of the first.
