Adalyn Irey, a high school student at South Haven Schools, received Student of the Month for the month of January. Irey participates in basketball, volleyball, track and softball.

She started school in 2013 at South Haven and was a preschooler when she started here. Irey has grown up in South Haven for her whole life, and has gone to the school for a long time. Irey’s favorite teacher is currently Mike Heater and growing up in the school, her favorite teacher was Rena Parcher.

When Irey was asked why she thinks she got student of the month she said, “I show up to class prepared for class and I sit in class quietly.” Irey was also asked if she works hard in class and she said she tries to.

Irey was asked what advice she had for others to get Student of the Month and in response, all she could do was sigh. Although she didn’t have much advice for anyone, she was quite excited when asked about what she would do with her gift card she would receive, and she said, “Dirty Dr. Pepper,” as she was smiling from ear to ear.
