SCBL Semi-Finals Keep Fans on the Edge of Their Seats

When the games come down to being important, the coaches and athletes attempt the best plays to help achieve a win. This was clear in the game against Argonia when the athletes had to make sure to jump to the ball in defense because the Argonia guards would shoot. On offense, the Lady Cards had to make sure to drive to the basket and not throw up quick shots. This was an important aspect of the game which led the Cards to a win, and to the championship game.

On Friday 24, 2025 the Cardinals participated in the semi-finals of the SCBL Tournament. The South Haven girls were sitting in the one seed for the beginning of the tournament. The first game they played was against Oxford followed by the Argonia game. The game ended 53-31 with the Lady Cards with the win.

The Argonia game really helped the girls by preparing them for the Flinthills game by helping their defense get better. The girls struggle most with foul trouble and rebounding. The girls said that the hardest part of the game was in the first half of the game. One starter, Addison Heater, said the most light hearted part of the game was, “The fourth quarter because we were ahead and other people got to go in.” Heater also said that this game was a lot like a warm up for the championship game. This game led the Cardinals into a win for the next game.
