JH Scholars Bowl Competes at Caldwell

By Emmalee Burden

The Junior High Scholars Bowl team competed against several other teams on Feb. 25, 2025. The had a total of 10 kids attend the competition and had both a varsity and junior varsity team. The varsity team won two out of the four rounds and sadly did not make it to the finals. Sadly the JV team did not either and JV captain Jett Bohannon said “We did not succeed but we will hopefully do better in the future.”

Scholars Bowl is a competition based on which team can answer the question the most accurately and timely. The questions are based off subjects such as history, English, math, science, fine arts, current events, and sports. Although the goal is to win and make it to the next round they also have fun.

Trista Metzinger said her favorite memory of the night was, “In Colter’s classroom, he was playing childish music after the round ended. He played the chicken dance and Natalie B, Natalie C, Cheyenne, and I danced. It was so fun!”

Cheer them on at their meet next Tuesday as Oxford!
