On Mar. 8, 2025 at 6:00pm, the South Haven Cardinals played their last game against Elyria Christian at Central Christian College in McPherson. Unfortunately, the boys ended up losing the game 24-57.
Head Men’s Basketball Coach at South Haven High School, Zach Norris, gave his input on the game. Norris thought that the game went as well as it could have against a team as good as Elyria. One thing that Norris thought that the team could do better was taking care of the ball.
When asked what the best thing that the team did during the game was, Norris said “They didn’t give up on each other. They knew that they weren’t going to win but they kept it together.” Norris said that the biggest challenge during the game was the other team’s athleticism and skills. Their school provides players that play basketball year round which makes the skill gap between players immense.
If Norris could change one thing about the game, it would be to get number 15, T. Romero, on the other team, benched because he expressed that he was their best player.
Norris said that his favorite part of his day with the team was the togetherness shown after the game. He and the team had shared a special moment in the locker room giving off a good family environment.
Even though our South Haven Cardinals didn’t win, they still went out with a bang giving our school second place!
