The Cardinals Push Their Way to Victory

By Annabelle Burden

On March 3, 2025 the South Haven Lady Cardinals played Elyria Christian for a game that would determine if they played in finals of Sub-State or not. The girls were even able to play on their home court for this game. The game ended in a win 56 – 29 allowing the girls to move to the next round.

The girls knew they would have to play hard if they wanted another chance for state and that’s exactly what they did. One starter, Kelly Theurer, was asked what part of the game felt most serious and she said, “The first half because we had a slow start and we didn’t play as good as we could have in the first half.“

Another athlete, Addison Heater, was asked what part of the game was more unserious and she responded with, “Definitely the fourth quarter because we were ahead by so much, we put our JV in.” Although there were serious parts and unserious parts the girls knew they would have to work hard to achieve another win.

This was a big thing for these girls because this would mean a possible chance at going to State four years in a row. The girls did exactly what they came to do and that was take home another win.

We are proud of these girls for moving forward to the next round and giving the game their all through the good and bad parts of it.
