South Havens Annual Color Run

By Emmalee Burden

South Haven had their annual Color Run on May 5, 2025. All elementary school students have the opportunity to participate and run during the color run. Kelli Dvorak and the Cardinal Club sponsor the event.

It is meant to raise money for the Cardinal Club. The club’s goal is to upgrade the school and provide more for the students and school. They involve the junior high and high schoolers by putting them in charge of spraying the powder onto the runners.

During the weeks before the color run, elementary school students go around with a packet to collect sponsors who donate a set amount of money to the event. The event is meant not only to raise money but as a fun activity for all of the students to participate in.

We asked groups of students from different age groups if they enjoyed the color run, and the high schoolers said they enjoyed spraying color on each other. The middle schoolers said they had fun running around and spraying the kids and each other with the color. The second grade class enjoyed the color run a lot some said their favorite part was the color and others said they enjoyed the running.

Overall, it was a good activity to get the entire school involved and everyone seemed to have fun.
