The Lady Outlaws Hit Off Another Home Run Season of Softball

By Carley Russell

This year, the Lady Outlaws played their third Outlaw softball season. Last year, the Lady Outlaws had a pretty average season with the record being 14-7. This year the Lady Outlaws record is currently  7-3 with the season still going.

This year, the Lady Outlaws coaches are Melissa Jolly-Breithaupt and Byron White.  Melissa has coached softball for six years, with this being her second season at South Haven. When asked how she thinks the team will do this season, Jolly-Breightaupt said, “I feel that our team this season should be well. We have eight returning starters from last year with a solid group of freshmen to add to that line up.”

This year, the Lady Outlaws thought their toughest team this year would be Cedar Vale/Dexter. When they played CVD, they did learn that that would be a tough game. CVD ended up winning both games, and the final scores were 17 to 0 and 12 to 1. Now the Lady Outlaws enter the league tournament and one of the goals they had for this season was to be league champions. So good luck Lady Outlaws and congrats on a good season so far.
