What Did The Dirt Say to The FFA Members? “You Grow, Team!” South Haven FFA

By Michelle Tevington

During the month of March the South Haven land and homesite judging teams attended practice competitions to prepare for the national competition in Oklahoma City. Back in Sept., 2024, members competed and placed in the South Central District land and homesite judging competitions. In Oct., 2024, the homesite judging team won the Kansas FFA homesite judging competition.

Annabelle Burden, Arrailai Wartick, Addison Heater, and Kelly Theurer all attended the Eastern Oklahoma State College Interscholastic homesite competition on March 27th. The team won second place. High individuals were Arrallai Wartick in first place and Annabelle Burden in third place.

The land judging teams went and competed in the NEO A&M Aggie Day Interscholastic Land Judging Competition. Two teams travelled and competed. The first team was made up of Carley Russell, Tony Trillo, Maddox Pond, and Emmalee Burden. This team got 9th place overall. The second team was made up of Maddy Ferguson, Brody Heater, and Coal Vanzant.

The homesite judging team will compete in Oklahoma City at the end of April. The top scoring land judging members will travel along to watch and learn. Hopefully they will qualify for the national land judging competition next year. Congratulations to all the members who competed.
