Rain on the High School Band Fair

By Hydie Goans

On the September 9, the high school band was planning to go to Hutchinson, Kansas, to play “You Belong with Me” and “South Sumner.” Leaving around 7:50 AM, even though they were supposed to leave at 7:30. Arriving at 10:00, and ending it at 10:30, they were marching when it suddenly started raining heavily upon them; they still played deep in their hearts, wanting to get it over with.

Coon said that them running for shelter from the rain was a funny sight to see. Coon also had concluded that everyone played well, no mistakes, even if no one could hear very well due to the rain. Having Applebee’s for lunch and having a good time. They are just waiting on a rating for their play, Coon said she was proud of the band for continuing even in the heavy rain.
