Was the “Demon Slayer” Movie Successful?

By Hydie Goans

On September 12, on a Friday afternoon, the new Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle had come out after months of waiting. It is already a top-grossing movie in Japan, Europe, and the US. The film has already broken multiple records, marking the best opening weekend for an anime film in the US and Japan, achieving other milestones in India and worldwide.

The details, among other things, were “insanely on point.” Akaza, a demon in the film, had a saddening backstory that made many hearts sorrow, and explained everything done to him, including losing a Hashira to Upperank number 2 (Upperank is a demon who is the most powerful). While watching this movie, the sadness and the details make it all so amazing and just mind-blowing. It is truly the greatest film of 2025.
