On September 23, 2025, South Haven High School Volleyball played West Elk, Flinthills, and Udall at West Elk. The volleyball team is coached by Jenny Cully and Rheann Heater.
Junior Varsity managed to win against Udall and took the other two games to a third set. JV demon, Xava Wiens, says they played really well. “Carlee [Heater] got a really good block,” and that Wiens herself thinks she had set the ball pretty good, and she even tipped the ball to an open spot where none of the opposing team was. However, Wiens does say that communication could have been better.
Varsity had nearly the same results, winning against West Elk but losing to Udall and Flinthills. A player since her elementary school years, Maddy Ferguson says that she had a couple of kills but wishes the team would be more confident in how they played. “We know we can do it instead of thinking about it.”
South Haven High School Volleyball plays again on September 27 at 9 A.M. at Lyons for their tournament.
