On September 22, 2025, South Sumner Junior Varsity Football put up a fight against the Argonia-Attica Titans. The Outlaws fought their way through only for the score to be 38-0, Titans with the win. They had travelled to Argonia to play, along with their varsity players.

Freshman Jett Bohannon, the JV team’s cornerback, inside linebacker, and receiver, has been playing football for three years. Bohannon had thought that the team “needs better outside containment and pass coverage.” He believes that not containing the outside was one of the big reasons they kept getting scored on and in the end, lost the game.

Landon Goeckel, another freshman, said that he did well at “kick off return, and I could’ve done better on defense.” His reasoning behind that is that he had been working on that, and he was confident. Goeckel also thought that riding there was miserable because it was terribly cramped on the bus.

The Outlaw JV team plays again next week on September 29, 2025 against Central/Burden.
