On Nov. 20, 2025 the Junior High South Haven played against Cedarvale/Dexter. Unfortunately, the JH boys and girls both lost each game, with the boys score being 38-52, and the girls being 31-39.
An eighth grade student at South Haven, Carson Goeckel, played point guard and scored 16 points overall. Goeckel said that they could have done much better. He also stated that the reason they got down so much was because they struggled with “running offense correctly.”
A seventh grade student on the girls basketball team, Natalie Betzen, played shooting guard. Betzen thought the reason they lost was because, like the boys team, they could not run their offense correctly. She also believed that they did very well at defense and getting the ball back.
Overall, the players all thought that they can definitely improve, especially with it being only the first game of the season.
