Elementary Winter Program Brings Holiday Cheer

By Jayden Woodfin

The annual Elementary Winter Program filled the school with music, excitement, and plenty of holiday spirit. Students from Pre-K through fourth grade took the stage to perform a joyful lineup of classic seasonal songs.

The evening opened with the Pre-K classes singing “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas.” One of the highlights of the performance was Pre-K student Kainen Woodfin, who played the hippopotamus for the song, bringing laughter and smiles from the audience. Pre-K then continued their performance with a cheerful version of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” where Kainen also appeared as a reindeer.

Pre-K and kindergarten students joined together next for a lively performance of “Jingle Bells.” Their bright voices and wide smiles helped set a festive tone for the rest of the program. Kindergarten and first grade followed with a fun and energetic rendition of “Russian Dance” from The Nutcracker, showing impressive focus and enthusiasm for such a fast-paced piece.

The first and second graders continued the show with two winter favorites: “Song of the Snowman” and the sweet and cozy “Marshmallow Song.” Their harmonies and confidence made both songs memorable moments of the night.

The tone shifted to a more traditional holiday sound as the thirrd graders performed “Jolly Old St. Nicholas” using handbells. Their careful timing and teamwork were clear as the bells rang beautifully throughout the gym. The thirrd and fourth graders then came together to sing “Silver Bells,” filling the room with a calm, classic Christmas melody.

The fourth grade students also showcased their recorder skills with a spirited performance of “Jingle Bells.” Their hard work and practice paid off as they played with clarity and enthusiasm.

To close the evening, every grade returned to the stage for a final group performance of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” Hearing all voices together made for a heartwarming ending to a night full of talent, community, and festive fun.

The Winter Program once again showed how music can bring people together and how much joy our students bring to the school. It was truly a celebration of the season.
