Hot, Hot, Hot Chocolate: South Haven Students Got It At Rise And Shine

By Trista Metzinger

The first Monday of December started off like any other at South Haven. Students were tired and groaning as they were called into the South Gym for the monthly Rise and Shine. Birthdays were announced for December, staff members were recognized, the students recited the creed. The theme for this month was perseverance, staying strong throughout hard times. Then the game was announced.

Students joyously pulled each other on scooters with pool noodles to a hula hoop filled with tree decorations to decorate the person chosen to be the tree. Winners are to be announced and will receive a pizza party, as Aguilar announced. Freshman Brooklyn Dvorak, picked to be the Christmas tree, said she really liked being the Christmas tree. Furthermore, Dvorak enecourages people to have a good holiday and enjoy the good food.

Afterwards, the students were given hot chocolate to warm them up in December’s cold temperatures.
