On November 21, 2025, the long awaited continuation of “Wicked” was finally released by Universal Pictures under the title of “Wicked: For Good.”
So far, the first part seems to be the stronger of the two, with critics defining the second as weaker musically and less captivating.
Fans like the emotional depth and chemistry between the two main characters; Elphaba, who is played by Cynthia Erivo, and Glinda, who is played by Ariana Grande. However, many say the tone is glummier and pacing is unenjoyable.
It is not recommended for kids to watch due to darker tones especially at the end where the characters chant, “Kill the witch,” and a scarier take on the Tinman’s story.
Overall, the movie is not better than the first, but it is an end to the story that leaves fans with no questions and finishes the story in a way that stays true to its premise.
