On Dec. 5, 2025, the High School South Haven Girl’s Basketball team had their first home game of the pre-season. Playing versus the Sedgwick Cardinals, the South Haven Lady Cardinals won the game 51-35.
Adalyn Irey, a sophomore varsity starter, led the game as the leading scorer with 16 points. Irey, when asked, stated that “trying not to get mad because they were fouling a bunch and the refs just weren’t calling it” was the most challenging part of the game. She also thought that she played overall well but she “could’ve worked on defense more.” Irey is excited for the Border Queen Tournament and hopes that the South Haven Cardinals will win it all.
The Lady Cardinals play again in the Border Queen Tournament on Dec. 9, 12, and 13.
