Lila Kupka is a member of the class of 2032 attending South Haven high school. This is her first year cheerleading, with prior training in cheer camps since kindergarten.
Kupka so far says her time as middle school cheerleader has been pretty easy, with a few fun things happening and the occasional free food. With all her experience in cheer camp, Kupka hopes to become a co-captain next year. When asked why she does cheerleading, Kupka responded that her mother was her biggest supporter. “She made my confidence come up cause she told me I’d do good at tryouts.”
The one thing Kupka wishes would improve is communication, claiming she is not told timeout cheer plans and will be left out of the group. “I feel like people don’t appreciate the things I do sometimes.”
However, Kupka does want to continue cheering in her future and encourages other future cheerleaders to try their best and be positive.
