On Feb. 3, 2026, the South Haven Lady Cardinals played against the Oxford Wildcats in South Haven at 6:30pm. After the Wildcats being up by nearly 12 points in the first quarter, the Cardinals came back and won by 20 points, with the final score being 46-26.
Senior guard, Addison Heater, came out of the locker room at the beginning of the game with the mentality and determination to win, and they did! Heater thought that even though they ended up winning by 20 points, the team could have done much better at “shooting” and “talking on defense.” Overall, Heater believed that she did “below-average” and she could have played much better.
Adalyn Irey, a sophomore varsity starter, thought that if the team had kept their energy up and had a little more positivity, then they could have played a lot better. Irey, when asked, “What was one thing that you could have done better?” stated that she could have done much better if she had talked more and been a bit more cheerful.
The Lady Cardinals play next on Feb. 6, 2026, versus Cedarvale/Dexter at 6:00pm. Heater and Irey both think that they will win but it will be a close game. Irey stated that “we will have to put a lot of work in at practice, but in the end I know we will win even if it’s close.”
