On Mar. 3, 2026, South Sumner Outlaw softball practice had officially started. The South Haven-Caldwell softball team practices in South Haven everyday.
Freshman Trista Metzinger has been playing softball for six years. When asked what her goals are this season, she answered, “I want to improve on throwing and I want the team to just overall bond and get along.”
Metzinger stated that her dad has been her biggest supporter and a big influence throughout her softball career. She is extremely excited for her first game, and she anticipates seeing how the season will go.
Addison Heater, a senior at South Haven Highschool, is very excited to play and win this year. With this being her final year playing high school softball, she has set many expectations for not only herself but the team as well. Heater’s main goal for this season is to increase her batting average and for the team to actually get along with each other.
Their first game is on Mar. 26, at South Haven versus Oxford. Heater is ready to work and she anticipates a good season.
