On April 7, 2026, Carley Russell, Blaine Carroll, Makenzie Callison, Lyla Wiiest, Natalie Colwell, and Natalie Betzen went to Pittsburg State to participate in the Young Entrepreneurship Challenge. They were led by Missy Russell.
Competitors had to present an elevator pitch, slideshow, and booth for a business that they had been working on for about two to three months.
Callison, a junior, Russell, sophomore, and Carroll, a freshman, presented their flower shop and greenhouse business called “Blooming Branch”. Seventh graders Weist, Betzen, and Colwell showed their cleaning and decorating business called “Simple Solutions.”
Neither team placed, but Carroll says it was a fun experience to get to do.
