South Haven Theater Presents their Version of “Little Shop of Horrors” to the School

By Trista Metzinger

On April 10 and 11, 2026, Keeley Coon, theater director at South Haven, and her cast and crew showed their ‘clean’ version of “Little Shop of Horrors” to the school.

The story followed Seymour Krelborn, played by senior Gabe Monsiviais, and his people-eating plant, the Audrey Two, who was voiced by junior Tony Trillo and controlled by juniors Maddox Pond and Cole Spencer. Seymour is shown to be head over heels for a girl named Audrey, played by senior Annabelle Burden, and also is shown to have some tension with her abusive dentist boyfriend Orin Scrivello, played by senior Landon Cullens.

The plant brings luck to Seymour throughout the show, causing the flower shop and its owner, Mushnik, played by junior Dalton Kelly, to become successful. Throughout the play, the Urchins, a group of six sassy young ladies, narrate the play as it goes. The Urchins were played by senior Tennyson Dark, juniors Witney Goebel, Sydnie Goebel, Avalin Hughes, Emelia Cabral, and sixth grader Lyla Kupka.

When asked what the school would like to see improvement on, many said they couldn’t hear the actors over the music. Others said the actors could have had more confidence and a more action-oriented show would be appreciated in the future.

Overall, the show was a success. The South Haven theater would like to thank everyone who helped provide for the play.
