On April 8, the South Haven FFA Chapter attended the South Central District FFA Floriculture Contest. Contestants include Arallai Wartick (28th), Annabelle Burden (50th), Kelly Theurer (54th), Claire Minor (67th), Avery Strickland (37th), Michelle Tevington (79th), Maddox Pond (92nd), Tony Trillo (129th), and Cole Spencer (142nd). Of the competing teams, we had one receive recognition for top ten teams, receiving ninth place. This team consisted of Wartick, Burden, Theurer, and Minor.
Contestants participated in a plant ID quiz, knowledge test and disease and deficiencies identification.
Going forward, a team will travel to the State FFA Career Development Event contest in Manhattan, Kansas. This team will be made up of Wartick, Theurer, Minor, and Strickland. Good luck to this team moving forward.
