By Trista Metzinger

From October 12 to 16, 2026, South Haven celebrated their homecoming with the theme of World Tour.

The first dress up theme on Monday was the USA. Students wore red, white, and blue for the picture. On Tuesday, students grabbed bed sheets and fashioned togas for a Greek-themed day. Wednesday was a safari day where kids came with stuffed animals, cargo shorts, and binoculars. Students wore berets and brought baguettes for visiting France on Thursday. Finally, Friday was Hawaiian day. Students wore leis and Hawaiian shirts for the HoCo game against West Elk.

The homecoming candidates were freshmen Ashlyn Mraz and Carson Goeckel, sophomores Xava Weins and Corbin Lucas, juniors Adalyn Irey and Jayce Wilson, and seniors Avery Strickland and Aiden Scott. Strickland and Scott were crowned queen and king.

During Cardinal Time that week, there was Battle at the Net where teams played volleyball in a tournament. There were also Brain Games, including Jeopardy and Family Feud in the North Commons.

Other events that week included the Powderpuff game scheduled for Wednesday. Unfortunately, Powderpuff had to be canceled due to weather and is still waiting for a rescheduled time. There was also a Homecoming Dance that Saturday hosted by the Student Council.
